JAKARTA, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Wuling Motors Indonesia has handed over Air EV vehicles symbolically to Indonesia's Ministry of State Secretariat in Jakarta on Saturday, marking its support for the upcoming ASEAN Summit as an official car partner.

A total of 50 Air EV units in pristine white will be on duty for the mobility of delegates during the 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit to be held on May 9-11 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara province.

Secretary of State Secretariat Setya Utama said the upcoming 2023 ASEAN Summit in May will show Indonesia's commitment to transitioning to clean energy, and Wuling is an important part of the EV ecosystem in Indonesia.

"We are very proud to be able to support Indonesia again after last year's Group of 20 (G20) summit in its important role in the international arena. Our cars will bring emissions-free and environment-friendly mobility services to all delegates," said Shi Guoyong, president director of Wuling Motors Indonesia.

"Our slogan of Shaping Clean Tomorrow is written on each Air EV unit provided for the ASEAN summit," Shi added.

The 50 units of Wuling Air EV Long Range are made in Indonesia, and have been painted in special livery with the ASEAN Indonesia 2023 logo and a distinctive Labuan Bajo pattern. They can travel up to 300 km on full battery charge.

Wuling Motors Indonesia is a subsidiary of the major Chinese automobile manufacturer SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), which is a joint venture between SAIC Motor, General Motors and Liuzhou Wuling Motors based in Liuzhou, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
