BUENOS AIRES, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Joaquin Pereyra scored a late own goal as River Plate earned a barely deserved 1-1 away draw with Atletico Tucuman in Argentina's Primera Division on Friday.

Mateo Coronel put the hosts ahead in the 15th minute by running onto Adrian Sanchez's cut-back from the right flank, evading his marker, and angling a low drive past goalkeeper Franco Armani.

River's task was made even more difficult seven minutes later when midfielder Jose Paradela was dismissed after receiving two yellow cards - first for handball and then for a bad foul - in the space of two minutes.

Pereyra gifted the visitors an equalizer in the 87th minute when his attempted headed clearance after a corner deflected into his own net.

The result means River now have a seven-point lead over second-placed San Lorenzo, who have a game in hand. Atletico Tucuman are 22nd in the 28-team standings with 14 points from as many games.

In other Argentine Primera Division fixtures on Thursday, Argentinos Juniors drew a 0-0 draw at Newell's Old Boys and Huracan won 2-1 at home to Arsenal Sarandi.
