ST. PETERSBURG, April 26 (Xinhua) -- A MiG-31 supersonic interceptor aircraft crashed in the Murmansk region of Russia on Wednesday.
According to the Defense Ministry of Russia, the airplane fell in a deserted place during a training flight.
The pilots ejected and were evacuated by a rescue helicopter.
Russian media reported that one of the MiG-31 engines caught fire. The aircraft fell into a lake. ■
