Iran, Oman vow to strengthen bilateral relations

TEHRAN, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Iran and Oman on Wednesday vowed to strengthen bilateral ties in all sectors, according to a statement posted on the website of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

During a meeting held in Muscat, the capital of Oman, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Omani Minister of the Royal Office Sultan bin Mohammed al Nua'mani discussed the latest regional and international developments, and exchanged views on the mutual visits by delegations and high-level officials between the two countries, according to the statement.

Amir-Abdollahian praised Oman for facilitating rapprochement talks between Tehran and Riyadh and for its efforts in promoting peace in Yemen.

Improving relations and boosting mutual investments will bring regional countries closer and ensure peace and stability in West Asia, he said.

The Omani minister expressed his satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations and underlined the need to enhance cooperation.

Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Muscat on Tuesday for talks on bilateral, regional, and international issues with Omani officials.
