COX'S BAZAR, Bangladesh, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Almost 21 kg of crystal methamphetamine has been seized by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in the South Asian country's biggest drug bust.
BGB public relation officer Md Shariful Islam told reporters that BGB personnel found 21 kg of what is commonly known as ice inside a house in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar district, some 300 km southeast of capital Dhaka, on early Wednesday.
He said the BGB team carried out an operation in the district's Balukhali area in the wee hours of Wednesday, arresting three men over their involvement in procuring and possessing drugs.
According to the official, the arrested people are part of a broader syndicate with international links.
"This seizure is the biggest in Bangladesh's history," he said. ■
