TEHRAN, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Iranian deputy defense minister Amir Rastegari said Iran's electronic warfare systems have hacked two spy aircraft simultaneously near the country's air borders.

Rastegari, who is also the CEO of Iran Electronics Industries (IEI) of the defense ministry, made the remarks in an interview with the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

According to the interview, which was partially published on Monday, the date of the hacking or the country to which the aircraft belonged was not released.

Rastegari said two spy planes were found conducting intelligence monitoring within Iranian airspace's flight information region.

"We caused disturbances in both planes' functions as we have developed the capability (of doing so) within that bandwidth," said Rastegari.

He noted that as soon as the pilots realized the hack attempts, they informed their base that "a jammer is active here and we cannot continue the operation."

Rastegari warned that Iran is capable of monitoring all the dimensions of the enemy's electromagnetic waves and launching proportionate offensives.
