HEFEI, April 24 (Xinhua) -- BeiDou satellites are far away in the sky, but the applications based on the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, or the BDS, are everywhere in our lives. At present, BDS has been applied in many industries in China.
The BDS has also empowered agricultural production and become an important force promoting agricultural modernization.
At present, the BDS has been applied in more than 7.9 million commercial vehicles, more than 47,000 ships, more than 40,000 postal and express delivery vehicles, and more than 100,000 automatic agricultural machines in China. The BDS has served all walks of life and become an important engine to promote economic and social development.
