HEFEI, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Huangshan City in east China's Anhui Province is famous for tea production and export. The city has made great efforts to develop ecological tea gardens, implement green prevention and control measures throughout garden areas. For example, the local authorities have implemented a ban on chemical pesticides and herbicides in tea gardens, opting for "yellow boards" as an eco-friendly alternative to prevent pests.
The local area has also made significant strides in integrating technology into the tea industry. Nearly 100 standardized tea production lines have been established to enhance production processes and improve overall quality.
The development of ecological tea gardens has also become a prominent feature of tourism in the region. As a well-known tourist city, Huangshan boasts 22 tea-tourism integrated parks and seven tea museums.
As of 2022, Huangshan City's annual tea output reached 45,000 tonnes, contributing to a comprehensive output value exceeding 21 billion yuan (about 3.05 billion U.S. dollars).
