BEIJING, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Here are the latest Chinese sports headlines from the past week:
1. Wang Shanshan, Zhang Yuning awarded Chinese Footballers of Year

Veteran Wang Shanshan has been named the 2022 Chinese Women's Footballer of the Year with her masterclass performances at last year's AFC Women's Asian Cup.
Wang helped China win the Asian Cup in India last year after a 16-year wait. The 33-year-old, who played both as a forward and a defender, put on decisive performances in the semifinals against Japan and the final against South Korea.
Beijing Guoan striker Zhang Yuning claimed the Chinese Men's Footballer of the Year award, while Shui Qingxia, head coach of China women's national football team, was awarded the Chinese Football Coach of the Year.
2. China Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony held

The 2022 China Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held on Sunday as 15 special tribute figures, nine inductees and a collective comprising the "outstanding new China basketball 50" were honored as Hall of Fame members.
The ceremony was held at China's oldest indoor basketball court in Tianjin's Nankai District.
15 Chinese basketball figures who have made outstanding contributions to the sport were honored as "special tribute figures".
3. China takes four synchro golds as Diving World Cup opens in Xi'an

China swept four synchro golds on offer on the first day of the 2023 Diving World Cup on Friday.
In the women's synchronised 10m platform, Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan, champions in last year's Budapest worlds and Berlin World Cup, collected a winning total of 373.20 points.
Yang Hao and Lian Junjie claimed the victory in the men's synchronised 10m platform with 457.23 points, while Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani took the title in the women's synchronised 3m springboard.
As a newly-formed pair, Long Daoyi and Wang Zongyuan met no trouble in both individual technique and synchronization on the men's 3m springboard to win in 484.74.
4. China celebrates Play True Day

China marked Play True Day on Friday, aimed at raising awareness of clean sports.
Initiated by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 2014, Play True Day is marked in April every year by worldwide athletes, athlete support personnel, sports participants, sports organizations and anti-doping organizations.
With the theme of "One Play True Team", the 2023 Play True Day aims to raise participants' awareness of collaboration and teamwork for clean sports.
5. China set to sweep WTT Champions titles

China confirmed a sweep of titles at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions, as Fan Zhendong and Liang Jingkun reached the men's singles final on Friday.
Fan registered a nail-biting 4-3 victory over world No. 13 Lim Jong-hoon of South Korea, while Liang saw off Lin Yun-Ju of Chinese Taipei 4-2.
Chinese paddlers have already secured the women's singles title after occupying all semifinal spots on Thursday.
