JERUSALEM, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Over 850 athletes took part in the annual Kinneret Triathlon at the Sea of Galilee lake in northeastern Israel on Friday.
The event's main competition included half iron distances, featuring a 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike ride, and 21.1 km run, won by Dan Alterman among the men at 4 hours, 9 minutes and 26 seconds, and Antonina Reznikov among the women at 4:46:12.
In the Olympic distance race, consisting of 1.5 km swimming, 40 km bike ride, and 10 km run, David Yehezkel won among the men event at a time of 2:18:14 while Inbar Zahavi took the women's gold at 2:39:33.
The event, which has been held since 1990, also included a sprint competition for shorter distances, alongside relay and youth heats. ■
