ZHONGWEI, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Nanchangtan Village, which is located in Zhongwei City of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, boasts a history of more than one thousand years. It's also the first village that the Yellow River flows through after entering Ningxia.
The village is home to hundreds of old pear trees, the oldest of which is over 600 years old. This natural wonder has made the village a popular tourist destination, especially after significant improvements to the village's infrastructure.
Every April, the local government holds a "Pear Blossom Festival" to promote the development of the village and showcase the unique landscape and culture to visitors. The tourism industry also helps locals increase income.
