BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- As agreed between China and Brazil, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of the Federative Republic of Brazil will pay a state visit to China from April 12 to 15.
Lula was born on Oct. 27, 1945 in Pernambuco, Brazil. In his early years, he led the labor movement and participated in the creation of the Workers' Party of Brazil. He also served as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil.
He was elected as the 35th president of Brazil in October 2002 and re-elected as president in October 2006. He was elected as president for the third time in October 2022 and inaugurated on Jan. 1, 2023. ■
