BUENOS AIRES, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Belgrano kept alive their hopes of a top-four finish with a 3-0 away victory over Union Santa Fe in their Argentine Primera Division clash on Saturday.
Bruno Zapelli and Ariel Garcia struck first-half goals for the visitors before Pablo Vegetti completed the rout by converting a late penalty.
The hosts were forced to play for more than an hour with only 10 men after Yeison Gordillo was shown a straight red card for violent conduct.
The result lifted Belgrano to ninth in Argentina's Primera Division standings with 15 points, six fewer than leaders River Plate, who have a game in hand.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Saturday, Sarmiento won 2-0 at Argentinos Juniors and Gimnasia prevailed 3-1 at home to Racing Club. ■
