KUANTAN, Malaysia, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP), the first industrial park jointly developed by Malaysia and China, marked its 10th anniversary here on Friday.
Delivering a speech during the celebration, Liu Ning, secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that the event will surely inject new impetus into deepening the practical cooperation between China and Malaysia, and create new opportunities.
He also said that Guangxi is willing to cooperate with friends from Malaysia to seize the opportunities of joint construction of the Belt and Road and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement to deepen cooperation with Malaysia in areas such as trade and investment, industrial development, and cultural exchanges.
For his part, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook hailed the MCKIP as a solid success of the relationship between China and Malaysia, noting that it had boosted the infrastructure and economic development of the country's east coast and would continue to be a key point of cooperation between both countries.
"MCKIP is a testament to the robust economic ties between our two nations. Over the years, this industrial park has grown to become one of the largest and most successful joint ventures between Malaysia and China, attracting investments from both domestic and foreign companies," he said.
The MCKIP, together with the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park situated in China, has set an innovative example of bilateral economic cooperation under the model of "Two Countries, Twin Parks." ■
