Israeli basketball Super League club Hapoel Haifa announced that the club has signed former CBA player Jarrod Jones.
JERUSALEM, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball Super League club Hapoel Haifa signed former CBA player Jarrod Jones, the club announced on Saturday.
The 32-year-old center played for the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) last season and reached the final series, where his team lost to the Liaoning Flying Leopards.
In 25 regular league games, Jones averaged 15 points and 7.8 rebounds, then in nine playoff games he recorded 10.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game on average.
Jones played college basketball at Ball State, then moved to Europe, where he played for 10 teams, including VL Pesaro, Karsiyaka, Monaco, Darussafaka and Cedevita Olimpija.
He started the current season at Joventut Badalona but was released by the Spanish club after just one month.
Hapoel Haifa is currently ranked 11th out of 12 teams in the Israeli top league, with one team to be relegated to the second league at the end of the season. ■
