BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese national political advisors convened a bi-weekly seminar on Friday to discuss fostering a new development paradigm and advancing Chinese modernization.

The seminar, held by the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, was presided over by Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

Noting that advancing Chinese modernization is an unprecedented undertaking, Wang demanded adopting a strategic and holistic perspective and grasping the intrinsic connections, goals, and tasks and the implementation requirements of the new development paradigm, high-quality development, and Chinese modernization.

Investigation and research should be encouraged, and targeted and feasible suggestions should be put forward, Wang said.

Political advisors expressed their views at the meeting. They proposed that efforts should be made to actively expand effective investment, optimize the business environment for private enterprises, and enhance the resilience and security of industrial and supply chains.

Political advisors also suggested that the innovation enthusiasm of technological innovation-based enterprises should be stimulated, and high-standard opening-up should be promoted.
