ISLAMABAD -- Two laborers were killed and several others missing when a phosphate mine collapsed in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday, rescue sources confirmed.

NEW DELHI -- At least 13 people died and several others were injured in a floor cave-in at a temple in India's central state of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, the state's Home Minister Narottam Mishra said.

ISLAMABAD -- Four policemen were killed and six others injured in two coordinated attacks on police in Pakistan's northwestern Lakki Marwat district in the wee hours of Thursday, a police spokesperson said.

MANILA -- A ferry carrying more than 200 people caught fire in the southern Philippines late Wednesday night, killing at least 10 passengers, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Thursday.
Commodore Marco Antonio Gines, the commander of the PCG District in Southwestern Mindanao, said the M/V Lady Mary Joy 3, a passenger and cargo vessel, was headed to Jolo from Zamboanga City when it caught fire in the waters off Baluk-Baluk Island in Hadji Muhtamad town of Basilan province past 10 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
