KIEV, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Visiting International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi has arrived at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP) in southern Ukraine, the country's state-run nuclear energy operator Energoatom said Wednesday.
During his visit, Grossi will evaluate the situation at the nuclear plant and talk to the engineers who operate it, Energoatom said in a Telegram post.
The visit is also aimed at guaranteeing the rotation of the members of the IAEA mission, which has been working at the ZNPP since September 2022. It marks Grossi's second trip to the plant after it fell under Russia's control.
The Zaporizhzhia plant, one of Europe's largest nuclear power plants, has been controlled by Russian forces since March 2022, but its Ukrainian staff has continued to operate it. ■
