KABUL, March 21 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 jolted 40 km SSE of Jurm, Afghanistan at 16:47:23 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 187.589 km, was initially determined to be at 36.5227 degrees north latitude and 70.9787 degrees east longitude.
Witnesses said the earthquake was also felt in Pakistan and India. ■
