BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- March 21 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Proclaiming the day in 1966, the United Nations General Assembly called on the international community to redouble its efforts to eliminate all forms of racial discrimination.

The lingering spectre over America of racism triggers protests and inflames public criticism. It is the right time for the United States to reflect further on its problems of systematic racism.
