JERUSALEM, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball club Hapoel Tel Aviv achieved a 91-85 home win against German side Hamburg Towers in the 16th round of basketball's EuroCup on Tuesday.

It was Hapoel's 11th win from 16 games in the 10-team Group B, improving their chances of finishing in the top four places which will give them home advantage in the round of 16.

Hamburg, who remain with five wins from 16, now need one win from the last two games to secure a place in the top eight and advance to the round of 16.

The first quarter ended 29-26 for the German team. In the second quarter, Jaylen Hoard inspired the home team to turn the game around and take a 45-36 lead, but three-pointers by Ziga Samar gave the lead back to Hamburg at halftime, ending 54-52.

The close game continued in the third quarter which ended 69-69, and then points by J'Covan Brown and Xavier Munford gave the win to the hosts.

Munford and Brown scored 21 points each, while their teammate JP Tokoto contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Yoeli Childs finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Samar contributed 18 points and eight assists for the visitors.

Hamburg will now play against Italy's Trento on March 21, while Hapoel face Slask Wroclaw in Poland the following evening.
