BEIJING, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The Ningbo Rockets suffered their 11th consecutive defeat of the 2022-2023 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league season after losing 107-76 to the Beijing Ducks at home on Friday.
Brandon Taylor scored the first points of the game for Ningbo, only for Ty Leaf and Fan Ziming leading Beijing to go up 28-25 at the end of the first quarter.
Ningbo lost its momentum in the second quarter as Zhu Yanxi and Lei Meng poured in a flurry of three-pointers to help Beijing lead as many as 22 points by halftime.
The Ducks continued to dominate in the rest of the time as Ningbo seemed to have lost fighting spirits.
Leaf led Beijing with 21 points, followed by 16 from Fan and 13 from Zhang Cairen. Taylor had 20 points for Ningbo, with Jiang Shuai adding 12 points.
In Shenyang, the Liaoning Flying Leopards cruised past the Shandong Heroes 99-77.
Liaoning built a 29-14 lead in the first quarter with combined efforts of Li Xiaoxu, Zhao Jiwei and Eric Moreland.
Shangdong was plagued with errors in the second period, allowing the home side to pull away and never look back.
Zhao scored 21 points for Liaoning, with Zhang Zhenlin, Han Dejun and Guo Ailun all scoring double-digits.
On the Shandong side, Ben McLemore and Troy Gillenwater had 19 points respectively, with Gao Shiyan making a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Also on Friday, the Shenzhen Aviators edged the Fujian Sturgeons 111-108, while the Shanghai Sharks defeated the Jilin Northeast Tigers 101-93. ■
