JERUSALEM, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Wearing costumes, eating celebratory meals, and exchanging gifts, Jews celebrated the annual Jewish holiday of Purim across Israel from Monday to Tuesday.
The holiday of Purim commemorates the Jews' salvation from genocide in ancient Persia, as recounted in the Biblical Book of Esther.
