GUWAHATI, India, March 6 (Xinhua) -- With barely two days left to celebrate Holi, the festival of colors, market vendors in India's northeastern state of Assam are busy making preparations as people's demand for colors, water guns and other accessories is rising.
The Holi, also known as Dol Purnima (full moon day), is an ancient festival celebrated across the Indian subcontinent to commemorate the divine love of Radha and Krishna.
Holi will take place on March 8 this year, and the joyous celebrations will include dances, music, feasts, and most notably, smearing colored powder.
