BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Rubilio Castillo of Honduras has joined Nantong Zhiyun FC, the newly-promoted Chinese Super League (CSL) side announced on Tuesday.
"In the 2023 season, this Honduran forward will play for Nantong Zhiyun in the Chinese Super League," the Nantong side said in a statement.
Castillo, who was capped 28 times and scored six goals for the Honduras national team, is capable of scoring and making assists, Nantong Zhiyun said.
The 31-year-old striker has been without a club after leaving Columbian first-tier club Deportivo Pasto last August.
"I appreciate the chance to play here. I will fit in with the team as soon as possible in order to achieve satisfying results with my teammates in the new season," the Nantong club quoted the player as saying in its statement.
The timetable of the 2023 CSL remains undecided amid speculations that it will start in mid-April. ■
