BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- President of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko will pay a state visit to China from Tuesday to Thursday at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Lukashenko was born on Aug. 30, 1954, in the Vitebsk region of Belarus.
Lukashenko graduated from the Kuleshov Mogilev State Pedagogical Institute and the Belarusian Agricultural Academy. He was a deputy in the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus and chairman of the anti-corruption committee of the Belarusian parliament.
In July 1994, Lukashenko was elected as the first president in Belarusian history. He was reelected to the presidency in 2001, 2006, 2010, 2015 and 2020. ■
