RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Top-seed Carlos Alcaraz reached the final of the ATP 500 Rio Open on Saturday with a 6-7, 7-5, 6-0 win over Chilean qualifier Nicolas Jarry.
Alcaraz struggled early as his first serve and groundstrokes deserted him on the outdoor clay of the Jockey Club Brasileiro.
But the 19-year-old world No. 2 steadied and recaptured his best form in the final set to take the match in two hours and 42 minutes.
He will meet Cameron Norrie in Sunday's final after the British second seed overcame Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 earlier in the day.
Considered South America's premier tennis event, the Rio Open this year includes prize money of more than two million U.S. dollars. ■
