LUANDA, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Angola have qualified for their sixth consecutive FIBA World Cup and their ninth overall after a 80-67 win over Cape Verde here on Saturday.
Angola remain second in Group E of the African qualifying tournament with 16 points. Cote d'Ivoire top the group after beating Uganda 84-44 the same day.
Angola's best performance in the FIBA World Cup was a ninth-place finish in 2006.
The 19th FIBA World Cup will run from August 25 to September 10, in the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia. ■
