JERUSALEM, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Former world champion, Sagi Muki of Israel, on Friday won the first gold medal for the host on the second day of the international Tel Aviv Judo Grand Slam.

In the men's -81kg final, Muki beat former European champion Vedat Albayrak of Türkiye by an ippon just 12 seconds into the duel.

France gained its third gold medal in the tournament, held at the Shlomo Group Arena in Tel Aviv, after former European champion Margaux Pinot defeated Germany's Miriam Butkereit by an ippon in the women's -70kg final.

Canada won its second gold medal when Olympic bronze medalist Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard overcame Cuba's Maylin del Toro Carvajal by an ippon in the women's -63kg final.

Switzerland's Nils Stump triumphed in the men's -73kg final after upsetting former European champion Igor Wandtke of Germany.

The tournament, organized by the International Judo Federation (IJF), will end on Saturday.
