SINGAPORE, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Peranakan Museum reopens to the public in Singapore on Feb. 17, after nearly four years of renovations. Peranakan means a native-born person of mixed local and foreign ancestry.
With a focus on inclusivity, the refreshed museum explores the multi-faceted diversity of the Peranakan culture and communities such as Peranakan Arabs, Peranakan Chinese, and Peranakan Indians.
Visitors will encounter intricate objects, interviews, stories, and contemporary expressions in the museum's nine galleries spanning three floors, experiencing something special as the art palace returns with old favorites and new discoveries.
