JAKARTA -- A 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit off Indonesia's North Sulawesi province Saturday, but did not cause any damage or casualties, disaster agency officials and weather agency said.

NEW DELHI -- Direct Tax collections in India during the current 2022-23 financial year stood at 15.67 trillion Indian rupees (190 billion U.S. dollars) till Feb. 10, which is 24.09 percent higher than the gross collections for the corresponding period of last year.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Saturday, the Direct Tax collection net of refunds stood at 12.98 trillion Indian rupees (157 billion dollars), which is 18.40 percent higher than the net collections for the corresponding period of last year. (India-Tax Collections)

TOKYO -- A total of 546 companies in Japan went bankrupt in January, rising for the ninth straight month, according to a recent survey by a credit research company.

MANILA -- Four soldiers were killed and another critically wounded after a soldier ran amok and fired at sleeping soldiers on Saturday inside an army camp in northern Mindanao, south of the Philippines, said the Philippine military.
