RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Defenders Filipe Luis and Leo Pereira have been ruled out of Flamengo's FIFA Club World Cup third-place playoff against Al Ahly in Morocco, the Brazilian club said on Thursday.
Pereira suffered a left hamstring strain during the team's 3-2 semifinal defeat to Al-Hilal while Luis has failed to recover from a foot problem that forced him to miss Tuesday's match in Tangier.
Flamengo did not provide further details of the injuries.
The reigning Copa Libertadores champions will meet Egypt's Al Ahly at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Saturday.
The Cairo-based outfit suffered a 4-1 defeat to European champions Real Madrid in their semifinal on Wednesday. ■
