SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a massive military parade at Kim II Sung Square in the capital Pyongyang Wednesday night to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army (KPA), the official Korean Central News Agency reported Thursday.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, attended and reviewed the military parade, said the report.
According to the report, the celebration saw a stunt show of the country's air force. It also displayed the army's main military hardware to show "advanced, modern and strong nature of the DPRK's defense capabilities," which included the column of main battle tanks, "the symbol of the combat efficiency" of the armed forces.
The KPA also demonstrated columns of tactical missiles and long-range cruise missiles, the report said, adding that the country's tactical nuclear weapons operation units and intercontinental ballistic missiles with "tremendous nuclear strike capability" showed up at last. ■
