NEW DELHI, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Indian government Tuesday said it has received the highest ever foreign inward remittances in the fiscal year 2021-22.
The information was given by Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary at the upper house of the Indian parliament.
"During 2021-22, India received foreign inward remittances of 89,127 million U.S. dollars which was the highest ever inward remittances received in a single year," Chaudhary in a written statement said.
According to Chaudhary, during FY 2020-21, it received 80,185 million dollars of foreign inward remittances, with 23.4 percent of it contributed by the United States, followed by the United Arab Emirates, which contributed 18 percent. ■
