A couple from two Mediterranean countries who run a restaurant in China's Nanjing express hope and confidence for their business in 2023, as China has optimized its COVID-19 response.

About ten years ago, Wessam Faleh and Domenika Sindik came to Nanjing, Jiangsu Province as students from Tunisia and Montenegro respectively.

They fell in love with each other and got married several years later.

As both of them come from Mediterranean countries, they wanted to open a Mediterranean restaurant in their second home, Nanjing.

In 2021, they opened FoodGasm. Although their business has ups and downs, they have tided over the difficulties and overcome obstacles with the help of the Chinese government.

They said 2022 wasn't easy but it gave them much encouragement and hope for the next year.

In 2023, they plan to improve the menu and bring more delicious food to customers in their restaurant.

They believe 2023 will be a good year, and they will keep going forward by maintaining the quality and standards of dishes.
