MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan police have arrested 10 people for involvement in criminal activities in Afghanistan's northern Balkh province, said a police statement Thursday.
The arrested were involved in illegal activities such as robbery, murder, adultery, mobile snatching and creating law and order problems in the province, the statement added.
In a similar crackdown, the police arrested over a dozen alleged criminals in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul last week.
The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to crack down on criminal elements to ensure law and order in the war-torn country. ■
