DHAKA, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh is holding a six-day cultural festival in capital Dhaka with a view to promoting jatra, a form of folk drama combining acting, songs, music, dance, characterized by stylish delivery and exaggerated gestures and orations.
The festival has been organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (the national academy of fine and performing art) for further development of jatra troupes in the country. The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has been organizing the festival since 2012.
