BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Shandong Taishan goalkeeper Wang Dalei displayed Chinese FA Cup trophy on social media on Thursday in an apparent attempt to hit back at his detractors.
The former Chinese international posted on his social media account a picture showing him holding high the Chinese FA Cup trophy.
"Who would ridicule a winner? Only those losers, for sure!" he wrote.
Wang made a mistake in the 37th minute of Sunday's Chinese FA Cup final between Shandong Taishan and Zhejiang FC, allowing a shot from Zhejiang striker Gu Bin to slip below his body and into the net.
Shandong then came back to score two goals to win the season-ending game 2-1.
Wang apologized for his mistake after the match.
"I'm very sorry for the goal I conceded. But this win is a team effort with every member helping one another," he said.
Some critics urged the 34-year-old to leave Shandong Taishan, saying he is not good enough to play in a top side like the Shandong team.
A comment below an article about his performance in the Chinese FA Cup final even accused him of being pretentious. ■
