BEIJING, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Two rural children choirs will perform the opening show of the 2023 Spring Festival Gala produced by China Media Group, which is slated on Jan. 21, according to a press conference Monday.
The choirs include the Malanhua Children's Choir -- an ensemble featured in both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics -- from Fuping County in north China's Hebei Province.
To be aired on TV, radio, and social media platforms, the 4-hour-plus gala will present various performances, such as singing and dance shows, stage comedies, opera, martial arts, and acrobatics, to the audience.
This year's gala will also leverage new technologies, such as virtual reality, to deliver immersive visual and sound effects for the audience. ■
