Polish midfielder Adrian Mierzejewski said he might continue to play in China, with three offers from Chinese clubs received so far.

WARSAW, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Polish midfielder Adrian Mierzejewski, who played for Henan Songshan Longmen until the end of 2022, revealed that he had received three offers from Chinese football clubs and that he might continue playing in China.

The 37-year-old has played for the team coached by Javier Pereira since April 2022. In 28 appearances he scored six goals and added 12 assists. After the contract's expiry Mierzejewski's future remains in question. In Tuesday's interview with Polish media the midfielder, who played 41 games for the national team, revealed that he may stay in China.

"I've never made rash decisions. I had offers from Canada and India, but I wasn't interested in them. I'm not creating extra pressure. I would like to spend as much time with my family as possible and close some things in Poland. I have three offers from China and I can also stay at Henan Songshan Longmen for another year," Mierzejewski claimed.

The Pole hailed the Chinese attitude to football.

"I have seen positive changes, people in China are hungry for football. We had a pandemic but I believe everything is slowly going back to the right track. I mean fans on the stands, sponsors and the schedule. I hope that 2023 will be good for Chinese football," he added.

Mierzejewski hasn't made a decision about his future but he doesn't think about retiring.

"I still feel good, my health is good and I would like to play longer. I would like to sign a contract on my terms, in a place that I can dream of, that will suit my family. I'm 37 so, to be honest, I don't feel pressure," Mierzejewski concluded.
