BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai Sharks center Wang Zhelin and Jilin Northeast Tigers forward Dominique Jones were named the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league's Players of the Month on Tuesday.
Wang led Shanghai to a 9-1 win-loss record in the first 10 matches during the second stage of the regular season, with averages of 21.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals, including five matches with at least 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Jones registered averages of 26.5 points, 11.3 rebounds, 10.1 assists and 3.1 steals in a 5-5 month for Jilin. He achieved an astonishing triple-double of 61 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a 125-113 victory over the Nanjing Monkey Kings on December 31, 2022.
Shanghai currently sits sixth in the league's standings with a win-loss record of 13-7, while Jilin is eighth with 11-10.

Also on Tuesday, Guangzhou Loong Lions guard Chen Ying-Chun and Liaoning Flying Leopards guard Kyle Fogg were named Players of the Week.
Chen led Guangzhou to a 2-1 week with averages of 26.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.0 steal, shooting 64.4% from the field and 55% from 3-point range.
Fogg contributed averages of 34.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.7 steals as Liaoning won two games and lost one between December 27, 2022 and January 2, 2023. He shot 63% from the floor and 66.7% from beyond the arc.
Guangzhou is placed 14th with a 9-12 win-loss record, while Liaoning ranks third with 16-5. ■
