NEW YORK, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Denver Nuggets beat the Boston Celtics 123-111 at home on Sunday, extending their NBA Western Conference lead to one game with a 10th win in 12 matches.
It was the first time for Denver to upset Boston since November 2019.
Reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic made 30 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists for Denver, Bruce Brown added 21 points and Michael Porter Jr. added 19.
Jaylen Brown led Boston with 30 points, and Jayson Tatum added 25.
A broken rim halted the game for 34 minutes with 6:43 remaining in the fourth quarter when Denver led 110-97.
"We're playing a good brand of basketball," said Denver's Andrew Gordon, who contributed 18 points.
Elsewhere, the Washington Wizards won 118-95 at the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Sacramento Kings 118-108. ■
