CHENGDU, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- A football pitch jointly donated by the Chinese women's national football team and Alipay, a major digital payment platform in China, has been put into use at a primary school in southwest China's Sichuan.
Due to its remote location, the Wawu Primary School in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture didn't have a standard football pitch before. Students used to train on the dirt field. But it didn't dampen their enthusiasm for the sport.
The girls' football team of the school now has 38 players. They train three to four times a day.
The pitch is the second of its kind in China, which aims to help more girl footballers pursue their dreams.
