MACAO, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Macao's composite consumer price index (CPI) for November increased by 0.76 percent year-on-year to 103.85, the special administrative region's statistics department said on Friday.

The latest report from the Statistics and Census Service said the increase was attributed to higher wages of domestic helpers and tuition fees, dearer charges for eating out and electricity, as well as rising prices of gasoline.

However, the rise was partially offset by lower rentals for dwellings, reduced charges for telecommunication services, and falling prices of vegetables and liquefied petroleum gas.

In comparison with October, the composite CPI for November fell by 0.04 percent.

For the 12 months ending November 2022, the average composite CPI grew by 1.06 percent from the previous period.

The average composite CPI for the first 11 months of 2022 rose by 1.07 percent year on year.
