BEIHAI, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Recently, a Maltese membrane-type LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier, Clean Horizon, left an LNG receiving terminal in Beihai, south China's Guangxi, which marked the successful completion of a night emergency departure drill at the terminal, as well as the first successful night departure of an LNG vessel in the region.
Beihai LNG terminal is a main gas source of the National Pipeline Network Group in southwest China. Since Nov. 15, it has received six vessels and unloaded about 385,600 tons of LNG, equivalent to 540 million cubic meters of natural gas.
After Beihai LNG terminal manages night departure, its throughput will increase by about one third, which is of great significance for further improving gas supply capacity in winter.
