RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Paraguayan defender Junior Alonso has bid farewell to Atletico Mineiro fans for a second time after completing a loan spell with the Brazilian club.

The 29-year-old returned to Atletico last March, two months after leaving to join Russia's Krasnodar on a deal that runs until June 2025.

Alonso was allowed to rejoin the Belo Horizonte outfit as part of a FIFA rule that allowed clubs in other countries and regions to temporarily sign up to two Ukraine or Russia-based players as free agents until June 30.

"Today our adventure ends and it's my turn to say goodbye to you, Atletico fans," Alonso said on social media.

"I've had two and a half years of many joys, good and not so good moments, and sadness. I'm leaving happy because I was able to be part of the growth of the club," he added.

In his two spells as an Atletico Mineiro player, the center-back played 132 games across all competitions and scored two goals.
