WASHINGTON, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted 37 km North of Pucallpa, Peru at 1313 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 156.983 km, was initially determined to be at 8.042 degrees south latitude and 74.503 degrees west longitude. ■
