BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Brunei logged a daily average of 332 new COVID-19 cases in the past week compared to 434 cases per day the week before, official statistics released on Monday showed.
According to the health ministry's weekly briefing, 38,422 Antigen Rapid Test (ART) results were uploaded to the government platform within one week, with 6.4 percent of them being positive.
A total of 287 new cases were reported on Monday, of which 286 cases were the result of ART tests and one case was the result of 48 Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.
Currently, one hospitalized case is held in the intensive care unit and two cases require oxygen assistance, the health ministry said.
As of Sunday, 78.9 percent of Brunei's population had received three doses of COVID-19 vaccines, while 11.4 percent had taken the fourth dose.
The COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and China's Sinopharm are administered in the Southeast Asian country. ■
