BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Su Hui was elected chairperson of the Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) on Saturday.
The decision was announced after the TDSL, a non-communist political party with about 3,400 members, concluded its 11th national congress in Beijing.
Su is also vice chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
At the closing session of the national congress of the TDSL, a 69-member new central committee was elected, which later chose Su as its chairperson.
Founded on Nov. 12, 1947, the TDSL is one of the eight non-communist parties in China that participate in state affairs under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. ■
