QUITO, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The southern Ecuadorian city of Loja is seeking sister city partnership with Chinese cities to boost cooperation in the fields of culture and education.
Noting China's steady social progress, Mayor of Loja Patricia Picoita said that establishing cooperation with Chinese cities will be an important asset for her city.
Picoita also expressed hope that through the partnership, the residents of Loja may have the opportunity to learn Chinese from native speakers.
Located in the south of the inter-Andean region of Ecuador, Loja stands out for its architecture, cultural diversity and its contribution to the arts.
